• Context

Igalelo runs a 12-month social incubation programme based in Mitchell’s Plain, one of the largest townships of Cape Town. We equip young women and men with the skills they need to expand their business and to gain self-confidence. We spur an entrepreneurial culture at a very large scale by serving individuals from the townships of Khayelitsha, Mitchell's Plain, Gugulethu, Manenberg, Langa and Philippi in the Western Cape area. Our main objective is to include them in a new sustainable economy where they will help tackle unemployment, social exclusion and lack of opportunities. Their actions are drastically improving the socio-economic and environmental features of their communities and is a path that should be followed by many more!
